Engineering Interventions: Interdisciplinary Engagements with Engineers (INES Workshop)

Dates: November 12-13, 2024
Modality: Online (Zoom)

Description

INES represents the interdisciplinary field of scholars who study engineers and engineering from a variety of social, political, and historical perspectives. The workshop asks: What is the relationship between engineering studies scholars and engineers? What should that relationship be? What can we accomplish with and for engineers? In the spirit of applied and interventionist research, this workshop presents papers and interactive sessions on four themes:

  • Engineering practice
  • Strategies for bridging disciplines
  • Identity in collaborations
  • Engineering ethics and responsibility

These themes all inform discussion of the question, what do we want our work to accomplish in the world?
